Optimize your life, career, and business

Last week Google announced their Nexus One smartphone (available now via T-Mobile), therefore I thought I would share a review from the TechCrunch article “An iPhone Lover’s Take On The Nexus One” by MG Siegler.

Here is a summary…

Google Apps – Not surprisingly the Nexus One performed better than the iPhone in this area.  Especially since Google Voice is only available on the Nexus One.   In addition, Gmail and Maps performed better on the Nexus One.

Third Party Apps – The iPhone still has way more apps than the Nexus One.  In addition, most of the important apps are still better on the iPhone.

Hardware - This is a toss up.  The OLED screen on the Nexus One is better than the screen on the iPhone in the dark but worse in daylight.  The 5 megapixel camera on the Nexus One is better than the 3 megapixel camera on the iPhone.  However, the single button on the iPhone is more intuitive and cleaner than the 4 buttons and trackball on the Nexus One.

Overall the author liked the iPhone 3GS over the Nexus One mostly due to the polish and all the little details.
